Warp and woof

Today I learned some tapestry jargon:

• The warp is the vertical threads that are held on the loom.

• The woof a.k.a. weft is the horizontal threads that are inserted over and under the warp.

In a finished tapestry you usually can only see the woof. The warp is an invisible foundation.
